EFL Championship News

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson insisted Southampton defender Ronnie Edwards should have seen red for denying a goal-scoring opportunity and called it a "game-changing" moment in their 2-1 defeat at St Mary's.

Wrexham was denied a Hollywood-style ending on their return to English soccer's second tier when Southampton struck twice in the final minutes.

Australian new boy Adrian Segecic has made an "unbelievable start" to life in the Championship, scoring the winner for Portsmouth as they opened the season with a 1-0 win away at Oxford.

Check out how Southampton came away with a last-gasp 2-1 win against Wrexham on their opening game of the Championship season.

Phil Parkinson is ready to embrace the grind of the Championship when Wrexham return to the second tier for the first time in 43 years on Saturday.
